FLATFIST
Two men in white on a clifftop, the sun coming up over the sea, and a whole school holiday spent on the 1985 karate classic, with your brother calling every kick before it landed. FLATFIST is that fight made again: a stick and two buttons, punch, kick, sweep and fly at him, and he doesn't go down easy. Best of three rounds, every one to the end, and a long road from novice to 10th dan.
Step in. Sweep. Finish him.
A flurry on the clifftop, a kick that lands, the health bar draining red, and the K.O. in slow motion. Then up the road to the harbour and the mountain shrine, where they hit back harder. Everyone in the room has an opinion about which kick you should have thrown.
Real gameplay, straight off the table's screen.
One clifftop. Nobody stops the fight.
No referee, no points, no waiting for a judge to say who won. A round is one fight from FIGHT! until one of you stays down, or the clock runs out and whoever has more left wins it. Best of three. Win the match and the road goes on; lose it and it's the end of the run, unless you've a continue left.
Every blow that lands costs him, the heavy kicks most of all, more if you catch him on the counter or in the head. Nearly beaten? You hit harder: the comeback is always on. Knock him down with a big kick, a sweep or a flying kick, and he has to get up again. Unless that was the last of him.
To 10th dan.
The road to 10th dan

Best of three

Breaking tiles

The record table
