FLATHIVE

The colony is quiet. Too quiet.

A mining colony on a stormy moon has gone silent. Our own squad of marines rolls in with their armoured carrier, and up in the corner of the table something has built a hive, with eggs, and a queen. FLATHIVE is a pinball table of our own, seen straight down and filling the screen, with an airlock that kicks the ball up a hidden tube and out over the top of the table.

I want a FlatboyOne or two players, taking turns. The table turns to whoever is up, so each of you plays from your own end.

Ping. Ping. Ping.

The tracker pings faster as the next mission gets close. The ball goes into the airlock, vanishes, and drops back in over the reactor at the top. Somebody across the table says they heard something. They didn't. Probably.

Real gameplay at real speed, straight off the table's screen.

Six missions. Then the queen.

Each mission starts at the airlock or from the carrier ramp: find the survivors, vent the reactor before it blows, take on the queen, and three more. Every one you win lights up on the tracker's screen and is worth a million more than the last.

Knock down all six eggs and the queen's grip takes the ball. Do it twice for Hive Multiball, three balls at once. Kickbacks in both outlanes, supply drops at the airlock, and the squad's carrier driving to wherever you are needed.
