Nothing to decide. Everything to shout about.
One die, one throw, move that many. Land at the foot of a ladder and you climb. Land on a snake's head and you slide down to its tail. That's the whole game, and that's why the youngest at the table can win it.
The board is our own: nine ladders, nine snakes, no two sharing a square. The longest ladder climbs from 50 to 91. The cruellest snake waits at 99 and takes you back to 44. And you must land exactly on 100: throw too far and you count back down.
