Milling, and a crazy week.

Late October 2026. New walnut tops in the garage, a top that went to hell, and a Facebook post that took off.

The walnut tops are milled on the CNC in the garage, a few at a time.

Milling… One in five gets the grain running across. I almost liked it better. Maybe I’ll turn the layout on the sheet a little.Facebook, 24 October

It doesn’t always go right. On 22 October I milled out the hole for the screen, then the pocket for the frame. It went completely wrong. Three days later I had a bad feeling, and yes. This one went to hell.

The day after, five new walnut tops were in the making.

26 October. New tops on the CNC.

On 26 October I posted two photos and two videos in a Facebook group, Vibe Coding is Life. I vibe built a complete game console. Idea, hardware, OS, games, the lot. Three days later the post had 4,100 reactions, 381 comments and 135 shares.

People asked who made it. Me and my daughter. My favourite game? FlatRally.

Some were sure the pictures were AI. One of you challenged me to prove it isn’t, so I filmed myself and switched it on. Here you go 😂

27 October. The proof.

It’s built with help from AI, and I say so. Claude was the 20% I always came short. But the walnut, the garage and the evenings are real.

That’s where we are at the end of October. The next tops are on the machine. Start again from part 1.
