Men take backwards. Kings fly.
Twelve men each on the dark squares, and light moves first. A man steps one square forward on the diagonal, but he captures both ways, forwards and backwards, jumping an enemy piece to the empty square beyond.
End a move on the far row and he's crowned. A king flies: any distance along a diagonal, taking a piece anywhere on it, landing beyond and carrying on. Capturing is compulsory, and you must play the sequence that takes the most.
