Dark against light on green baize: the game you learned in a minute and have been losing ever since. Close a line of the other colour between two of yours and every disc in it turns over. Corners are gold. Your phone marks every square you can play. Take on the person across the table, or the computer.

Four discs in the middle, crossed, and dark moves first. That's all the setting up there is. Place a disc so it closes a straight line of the other colour between it and one of yours: along, up or diagonally. Every disc closed that way turns over, in every direction at once.
Can't move? You pass, and the table does it for you and says so. When neither of you can move, it's over, and the colour with more discs on the board wins. Equal is a tie.
