FLATRALLY

Group B. Real places. Two at the table.

Remember Super Sprint in the arcade, and Super Cars and Micro Machines on the family computer, two of you hunched over one screen, elbows out? FLATRALLY is that, grown up: the monsters of 1985–86 on real rallycross circuits and real rally stages, rebuilt from the real roads and the real ground. Turbo lag, four-wheel drive pulling you through the slide, crests that throw you in the air. One camera over both cars, until one of you gets away.

Tucked in behind.

Two cars on the same piece of road, one sitting in the other's dust, waiting for the gap. You know exactly what's said across the table when it opens.

Tuck inbehind them, and their wake tows you on
Flick itinto the corner and let the tail come round
Flyoff the crest. Land it pointing the right way.

1986. The monsters, on real roads.

Group B, 1985 and 1986: the monsters. FLATRALLY puts them on the table, on five rallycross circuits and the six stages of the 1986 season. Tarmac and gravel at Hell in Norway, Lydden Hill where rallycross was born, night and ice over the Col de Turini, gravel and the big jump at Fafe, mud and forest in the Welsh hills.

The roads are real. Every place is built from the real map and the real ground, so the crests, the hairpins and the jumps are where they are in life. Drive off the road and nobody punishes you for it. You just have to find your way back on while the other car gets away.

Two ways to settle it.

The long one

League

The 1986 season, stage by stage in the championship's order: Monte Carlo, Sweden, Portugal, Corsica, Finland and Wales. Alone you chase a pace-setter; two of you race each other. A full field of made-up works drivers is timed round you, points and all. The season is saved after every round, so you can carry on tomorrow.
